This machining unit is the most progressive and most universal in the market:

  • Rotates around the Z-Axis

  • 400W-Servomotor, torque max. 2 Nm

  • Supervision of the speed

  • Speed, rotation direction and angle freely programmable

  • Universal use  -  A particularly low-noise spindle for drilling, milling, engraving....cutting threads, as tangential cutter, .....

  • Speed range 0,x .... 15.000 rpm

  • Collet 3 or 3,17 mm (low security level) to 10mm (industry)

  • Sound level (without machining): < 50 dB .... < 70 dB

  • High load/stress (only together with KS3x2 - package, professional rollers, etc.)


To work on workpieces (to do milling, drilling, engraving a.o.m.) you need a machining unit (MU). It is fixed to the Z-table of the CNC-machine.

The machining unit consists mainly of an electrical driven spindle. And a clamp to fix the tool (mill, drill, engraving router a.o.m.) in different diameters.

Notes for machining

Our HighPower-C-Axis as machining unit for drilling, milling, engraving, etc. needs suitable machining parameters which regards its technical features. Background knowledge:

A servomotor drive has got certain characteristics:

  • Servomotors are very dynamic (fast change of speed, good controllability) and very powerful. This requires a high load tolerance of the linear axes, therefore you must choose machines with high load capacity.

  • Servomotors have got an integrated encoder (rotation supervision and angle control), which provides a constant position even at standstill. Therefore, the motor must be shut off for manual tool change (Software function).

  • Servomotors are extremely maintenance-free, without brushes and current transmission elements towards the rotor (collector), nor ventilator. However, a servo-amplifier (control- and amplifier electronics) is required, which will normally be housed behind the body (Portal). A small ventilator is built in there.

  • Servomotors are extremely low

  • Servomotors and spindles are separated from one another, this means: flexible transmission ratios when needed (Standard 40:18), easier maintenance, spindle can be modified.

The total programmability of our HighPower-C-Axis allows its use in the following range of applications:

  • as milling/drilling/engraving spindle

  • to position angles

  • to use with special tools with inversion of rotation direction, like thread cutting, cutter, oscillating tools
